Classifications of Members
- Class A – Regular full-time employees of AUF, AUFMC and their affiliates
- Class B – Probationary full-time employees of AUF, AUFMC and their affiliates
- Class C – Part-time employees of AUF, AUFMC and their affiliates
- Class D – Special Hire / Contractual employees of AUF, AUFMC and their affiliates
- Class E – Former members of the AUFCOOP in good standing
- Class F – Regular full-time employees of duly accredited institutions.
Qualifications for Membership
- Must have signed the Undertaking for applicants;
- Must have completed the prescribed pre-membership cooperative education training program; and
- Must not be a member of any existing cooperative of any type within the Cooperative’s area of operation.
Application for Membership
- The applicant shall accomplish the membership application form and shall submit the same to the AUFCOOP Office for appropriate action.
- The applicant shall pay a Membership Fee of Two Hundred Fifty Pesos (P250.00), which shall be refundable in case of disapproval of application for membership. For disapproved application, the applicant may appeal his/her case in the next General Assembly by giving notice to the Board Secretary thirty (30) days before the said General Assembly. The decision of the General Assembly on the matter shall be final and irrevocable.
- Upon approval of membership application, the member shall subscribe to a minimum of fifty (50) shares at One Hundred Pesos (P100.00) par value per share with a total value of Five Thousand Pesos (P5,000.00). At least thirty (30) percent of the subscribed share capital or equivalent to fifteen (15) shares with a total value of One Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P1,500.00) must have been paid within six (6) months from the date of membership. Thereafter, the membership and subscription agreement shall provide the terms of payment of the unpaid subscription to a maximum period of eighteen (18) months. The maximum share capital subscription per individual member shall not exceed two thousand (2,000) shares with a total value of Two Hundred Thousand Pesos (P200,000.00).
- All approved application for new members are required to open a savings account with the cooperative with a minimum amount and maintaining balance of Five Hundred Pesos (P500.00) aside from the capital share required.
Duties of a Member
- Pays regularly the share capital subscription and participates in the continuous capital build-up of the AUFCOOP;
- Patronizes the business of the AUFCOOP at all times;
- Pays amortization of loans and other accounts as scheduled;
- Adopts the AUFCOOP’s service innovations and practices;
- Participates in the Cooperative’s parliamentary affairs;
- Attends the regular and/or special membership meetings;
- Obeys the rules and regulations provided by R.A. 9520, the By-Laws, the decision of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors, and the policies and decisions that may be promulgated by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA); and
- Promotes the vision, mission and goals of the AUFCOOP, its aims and purposes, the success of its business, the welfare of its members, and the cooperative movement as a whole.
Rights of a Member
- Right to vote (except Class E &F) during elections and on all matters brought before membership meetings, provided however, that he/she is a member in good standing;
- Right to seek for any elective position (except Class C, D, E and F), subject to the provisions of Section 12 & 22, Article III of the By-Laws;
- Right to participate during membership meetings;
- Right to inspect and examine the books of accounts, the book of the minutes, the share register, and other records of the AUFCOOP during business hours;
- Right to avail of all the services of the AUFCOOP without any discrimination whatsoever upon compliance with the conditions and requirements thereof; and
- Right to exercise other rights and privileges due to a member in good standing.

- Class A and B Members – All benefits and privileges due to a member in good standing
- Class C, D, E, & F Members – Limited benefits and privileges due to a member in good standing as specified in the schedule of benefits and privileges of members
